Man rescued from blaze hospitalized

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A man was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night following a house fire in Dayton.

Firefighters arrived at the house on Brighton Avenue near Stanley and Brandt around 8:30 p.m.

They found a small fire in the basement, and a man overcome by smoke.

He was rushed to Miami Valley Hospital-- his name and condition were not being released.

Fire officials told 2 NEWS the home did not have working smoke detectors.

The cause remains under investigation.
