DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Three people are left homeless early Wednesday morning after flames destroyed their house on East Helena Street in Dayton.
The family had escaped safely before firefighters arrived on the scene around 2:30 a.m.
Fire crews had to pull back at one point because of a flash over, which is similar to a giant fire ball.
Fire officials also told us there were oxygen tanks inside the home which created some loud booms.
The fire is also being considered suspicious. Fire officials found the backdoor, which had been boarded up, was hanging open.
We're told by Charlotte Sieber, who lives inside the home, that the backdoor had been broken into at least three times before.
She also said three of her cats are missing.
The fire remains under investigation.
