HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Several people were forced out of their apartments after flames broke out in Huber Heights Sunday night.

The fire sparked around 9:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of Brandt Pike.

Fire officials said when crews arrived they found a fire in a second flood bedroom.

Everyone made it out safely, but two pets died.

Firefighters put the flames out quickly, but smoke and water damaged a couple of apartments.

At least two families were staying somewhere else.

The cause remains under investigation.
