MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) - One local group made sure families across the Miami Valley had food on the table this Thanksgiving.
BOGG Ministries provided turkeys and all the trimmings to 400 people at a park in Miamisburg the Saturday before the holiday.
This group runs a mobile food bank each weekend.
Jason Barton, one of the organization's co-founders, said the event was aimed at bringing families together.
Barton said, "A lot of these families would not have meals when their family comes together for Thanksgiving this year, so it's more about providing hope, and a loving family environment than it is just giving out turkeys."
Barton told us the majority of people they help have helped aren't homeless or what he would describe as poor, but just normal folks struggling after job and pay cuts.
Bogg Ministries helps families year round, at five different locations in Dayton and Miamisburg.
