Walgreens shooting suspect identified

MIAMI TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - The Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office just approved charges against the man police shot during a robbery attempt.
Michael Fischer, 41, of West Carrollton, is now charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault, felonious assault on a police officer, vandalism and kidnapping.
Police say Fischer entered the Walgreens on State Route 741 in Miami Township Saturday afternoon. They say he fired off a shot inside the store while trying to get his hands on prescription drugs.
A police officer confronted Fischer as he left the store. Fischer shot at the officer. The officer was not injured, but he did return fire, hitting Fischer twice.
Fischer remains hospitalized.
