CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - After President Obama announced that by this time next year, 34,000 troops will have returned from Afghanistan, 2 News reached out to local military families for their reaction.

Centerville residents Dave and Nancy Aubel have strong military ties. Dave worked for the Air Force his whole life, and the couple has two sons in the Marine Corps.  Nancy said only time will tell when the whole family is back for good.

"You are trained to do a job, and you very willingly do it. But then again, if you can bring troops, our brothers or sisters, out of Harm's way that's the best," said Nancy Aubel.

Another military mother who also serves as a Blue Star Mom, Diane Chachula said she's skeptical because the military is always needed somewhere. Both her son and daughter serve in the U.S. Army.
