MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - The Miami Valley opened their closets, and especially their hearts to donate to what's become a Miami Valley tradition -- Carl's Coats for Kids.
During the broadcast of 2 NEWS Today, several viewers stopped by the WDTN studios to donate their gently used coats that will be given to Goodwill Industries just in time for winter.
"It just feels good to be able to get rid of some coats that we won't wear anymore and someone can use those coats," said kathy Shafer.
"It's a great cause and Carl has been a big part of it for 29 years, and is still a part," said Channel 2 News Director Steve Diorio. "As a TV station we're committed to helping out the community and this is just one of the ways we can do that."
