DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The University of Dayton is considering making changes ranging from curfew to altering the university calendar in effort to prevent another disturbance like Sunday morning’s riot in the future.
All options are on the table, said University Vice President for Student Development Bill Fischer, calling the behavior “deplorable.”
Seven people were arrested over the course of the weekend, including one after police in riot gear were called to a large party in the University of Dayton student neighborhood early Sunday morning.
24 non-students were charged over the course of the weekend including the seven arrests. Additionally, 45 University of Dayton students were cited through the university's student conduct system for violations including underage possession of alcohol to disorderly behavior.
Revelers were seen jumping on cars and smashing beer bottles in the street.
2 News crews witnessed police escorting University President, Dr. Daniel Curran, away from the disturbance.
A police cruiser and a number of other vehicles were damaged in the ruckus.
Officials from the university said there were no injuries reported.
