DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - University of Dayton students got a lesson in dating safety Wednesday evening.
They gathered to hear the message from the founder of the Date Safe Project.
The seminar used role playing to drive important lessons home.
"We're teaching students how to intervene when they see a friend in trouble, when they see someone trying to take advantage of them with alcohol and how to support survivors to be able to come forward," said Mike Domitrz, Founder of Date Safe Project.
The university recently reported one such incident. A student reported that she was sexually assaulted after someone slipped her a drink at a party.
The program is taught to kids in middle school, high school and college as well as the military.
There is also a section for parents on the group's web site .
