DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The University of Dayton is investigating an alleged assault at the campus.

The UD Department of Public Safety says the incident happened January 19 at a house on Lawnview Avenue.

A student told officers that she blacked out after consuming an alcoholic drink around 10:45 pm.  She then said she woke up the next morning in her Marianist Hall room and saw evidence of a sexual assault.

The police report continues to say that friends of the student said they saw her leave the party with a man named "Mike" or "Mark", but the victim could not describe what her alleged assailant looked like.  She did say he was tall with brown hair and a white shirt.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating.  They ask anyone with information about this case to call 229-2121 or 911 from a university telephone.

Public Safety officers warn students to never drink beverages from a common container and refuse offers of any open beverage containers.
