U. of Dayton prepares for busy weekend

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -
The University of Dayton announced its schedule for move in day, which is planned for  Saturday, August 18.
 
The University will welcome its largest freshman class for Fall of 2012.
 
Non-university drivers are advised to avoid Brown Street due to construction and campus congestion on Saturday, advised Karrie Rossmiller of 2 News TimeSaver Traffic.
 
About 56% of first-year students are from outside Ohio, another new record for the University, representing 39 states and Puerto Rico. The University projects that international enrollment will set another record with about 1,500 graduate and undergraduate students. Another record will be set with an overall enrollment of an estimated 1,500 international students.
 
Move In Day Schedule includes:
7 a.m. to noon — First-year students move into Marycrest, Stuart, Founders and Marianist residence halls.  
5:30–6 p.m. — A-10 Showcase and Pep Rally for first-year students and families, UD Arena. 
6–7 p.m. — Welcome from President Daniel J. Curran, UD Arena. 
Sunday, Aug. 19
All day — Upperclassmen move into student neighborhoods and residence halls. 
 
Classes start Wednesday, August 22.
