TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - A spokesman for Sears Holdings confirmed to 2 NEWS that the Trotwood Kmart store will be closing in late January. Chris Brathwaite said the store's 71 associates have been notified and those eligible will receive severance. The employees will also have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores.
Brathwaite said the decision to close the Trotwood store was based on performance. The store opened in 1994.
Liquidation sales will begin in the next couple of weeks.
