DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A child is being blamed for a fire inside a Dayton apartment Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived at 2025 Catalpa Drive shortly after 3:00 pm.

Investigators say a 2-year old knocked over an incense burner, sparking the blaze.

The child's mother was sleeping at the time.

There were no smoke detectors in the apartment, but everyone got out safely.

Damage is estimated at $15,000.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
