MIAMI TOWNSHIP (WDTN) - A robbery investigation is underway after two men demanded money from a Miami Township restaurant.
Officers said told 2 NEWS they arrived at the Tim Horton's on West Alex Bell Road and Springboro Pike just before 2 a.m. Monday after employees called to report they'd been robbed.
They told police that two white men wearing bandanas on their faces and all dark clothing, came in and demanded cash.
Police dogs were brought in to track the suspects, but so far haven't been able to locate them. The employees weren't sure which direction the suspects headed, or if they may have jumped into a car at some point.
Police are looking at surveillance video from inside this Tim Horton's that they say will hopefully reveal more about the suspects. In addition to the surveillance video, they're processing the scene for evidence and searching for fingerprints.
Miami Township Sergeant Jason Kramer said the employees did the right thing by immediately calling police, and not going after the suspects.
"No amount of money is worth someone's personal safety," Kramer said. "Obviously, it's not a good situation when you're being robbed. There's no reason to provide any resistance. The best thing to do is give the suspects what they desire at that time."
Kramer said there were no customers inside at the time of the robbery, and no word on whether the two had weapons on them.
If you have any information about the robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
