Suspicious box full of rotten meat at Huber Heights UDF

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - The suspicious package found at a Huber Heights UDF turned out to be full of rotting meat.

The bomb squad was called in to investigate around 4:00 p.m. Monday.  The box was left near gas pumps at the UDF on Taylorsville Road and Brandt Pike.

The person who left the box apparently saw what was happening and called police to tell them the box belonged to him and what it contained.

The bomb squad's robot opened the box and did, indeed, find meat inside.

The caller said he left it there because he didn't know what to do with it.

The UDF and nearby businesses were evacuated during the investigation.  The busy road was also shut down, but is now back open to traffic.

No word about whether the caller is in any kind of trouble.
