Bowling a strike for kids' sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters holds annual fundraiser

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Big Brothers Big Sisters' largest fundraiser Bowl for Kids' Sake will be held Saturday at Woodman Poelking Lanes in Kettering.

Bowling sessions will take place at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p . m.

Money raised during the event will go toward this year's goal of $79,000 to help the organization guide more than 500 kids towards success through mentoring.

Bowlers are asked to raise $65 each for two games, pizza, and a T-shirt.

University of Dayton's football coach, Rick Chamberlin will serve as Honorary Chair for the event.

"We are excited to have Coach Chamberlin as Honorary Chair for out Bowl for Kids' Sake event, " stated Joe Radelet, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley. "He is someone who knows the importance of mentoring on and off the field. We are honored to have his support and leadership."

Coach Chamberlin will be bowling with a few of his players during the 4 p.m. session.

Cargill is the 2013 Bowl for Kid's Sake presenting sponsor. Additional sponsors include CareSource, Fifth Third Bank, Poelking Bowling Centers, Brixey & Meyer, Battelle & Battelle, Brady Ware & Company, ACCO Brands, and Papa John's Pizza.
