DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The spices and sounds of Latin America came to life Saturday for the 12th annual Hispanic Heritage Festival.

The festival kicked off at Riverscape at 11 a.m. to celebrate the Hispanic and Latino culture.

Festival goers enjoyed live music, children's activities, a dancing contest, and a jalapeno eating contest.

The free event runs until 11 p.m. Saturday.
