DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A special thank you at Wednesday's Dayton City Commission meeting.
Fire officials, police and paramedics were honored for their response to a fire that destroyed an apartment complex, leaving dozens homeless.
The fire broke out on East Third Street near Keowee Street in early August.
Officials believe the blaze started in an alley between two buildings.
"I'm very proud of these individuals. They come to work, do their job. They high-5, low-6 each other if they identified on or the other did something miraculous or outstanding but they don't come asking for a pat on the back," said Chief Herbert Redden, Dayton Fire Department.
Authorities are still looking for the person responsible for starting the fire.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for any tips that lead to an arrest.
Call 333-4532 if you have any information.
