HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - A Huber Heights water park is making changes to improve safety at a pool where a toddler drowned.

3-year-old Tyree Dukes drowned last month at the Kroger Aquatic Center run by the YMCA.

Officials say about 14 lifeguards were on duty at the time.

The children's pool where Tyree drowned, was 3-feet deep.

YMCA chief, Tim Helm, confirmed Friday that the new safety changes include moving a lifeguard chair 18 inches and slightly modifying the lifeguard rotation.

The pool will also implement a new wrist-band system with different colored bands, showing where children are allowed to swim.
