DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The shooting victim is fighting for his life at the hospital.

Dayton Police were called to a home in the 4400 block of Eichelberger Avenue around 9 Saturday night for a shooting.

Police tell 2 News there were two people inside the home who knew one another.  Police say there was some sort of argument and a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and neck.

The shooting victim is in surgery right now with life-threatening injuries at Miami Valley Hospital.

Police don't know if gunfire was exchanged between the two men, so they don't know if the suspect was also shot.

Police are still searching for the shooter but they tell 2 News they have a good idea of who he is.

Police don't believe this shooting is related to any of the other recent shootings.
