DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The 2008 death of a sex offender has been identified as a homicide that took place in the city of Dayton, police announced Wednesday.
James Rembowski’s remains were found in the 7000 block of Lexington – Salem Road near West Alexandria in July 2008.
Sources tell 2 NEWS that police suspect Rembowski may have actually been killed at an address of Huffman Avenue in Dayton.
Rembowski was convicted of a sex crime in Florida before moving to Dayton. He was under indictment for failure to register as a sex offender at the time of his death.
Investigators are now working with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office and say they have identified possible suspects.
