SUGARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - Many cities and townships throughout the Miami Valley opted to postpone its Beggars' night due to poor weather conditions.

2 NEWS traveled to a neighborhood in Sugarcreek Township to see how parents there felt about the change of plans.

"I was relieved," said Lori Baptist, who has three grandchildren.  "How would I have explained to a 2 and 4-year-old, who are so excited about going, that they are not able to go because we feel the weather is too bad."

Lori said she is most concerned with the high winds and rain.

"I have broken tree limbs scattered throughout my backyard," said Lori.  "It just doesn't seem safe for young children to be outside right now."

Lori said she was thrilled when she received a phone call in the early afternoon Tuesday from her city manager's office informing her Beggars' night would be rescheduled.

"I think it was the best decision," said Lori.  "Now parents and kids can be happy and feel good about Beggars' night.
