DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Racing legend Salt Walther died from an accidental drug overdose.

The Montgomery County Coroner's officer released its findings Thursday.  The report said Walther suffered from multiple drug intoxication.

Walther, 65, died in December 2012.

He was severely burned in a raceway crash at the Indianapolis 500 in 1973.

He admitted the pain from that crash was the start of his drug use.
