DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The ramps from I-75 northbound to First Street and Third Street will be closed one week later than originally planned, announced Ohio Department of Transportation officials on Friday.
The ramps will now close beginning Monday, Oct. 15 at 9 a.m., instead of Monday, Oct. 8 as 2 NEWS previously reported.
These will be 24 hour a day ramp closures.
A newly constructed ramp is scheduled to open to motorists in the downtown area in December of 2016.
These ramp closures are due to a contractor reconfiguring I-75 in that location. This is part of the final phase of the I-75 modernization project.
The official detour during these ramp closures is: I-75 North to US 35 East to Jefferson Street to First and Third streets. Drivers can also use Main Street or Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.
