HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - The Montgomery County coroner has identified the man found dead inside his Huber Heights home, Oct. 10, 2012.

Police were called to the house at 8180 Mount Charles Lane around 5 p.m. by the man's girlfriend after she discovered the body and told them the house appeared to have been robbed.

Investigators told 2 NEWS, Tyree North, 31, had been shot in the back of the head.

The whole thing has left neighbors shaken.

"I pay more in rent to live near the police station so my son can walk safely to school and I got home and had no idea a murder had happened around the corner so it's a little scary," says Melinda Crosby.

Neighbors we talked with told us North and his girlfriend had been living in the home for about a year, but hadn't done anything to raise eyebrows.

"I've seen people sitting outside and talking," Crosby says. "Normal neighborhood activity. Nothing unusual."

North had his own music label, STI Entertainment and had ambitions to make it big in the music business with his songs.

He did have a run in with the law in Franklin County, pleading guilty to receiving stolen property this summer.

Police are asking for anyone with information that could help find the shooter to call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
