MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Two people were arrested Monday night after police said they abandoned a baby at a Miami Township fire station.

Officers were called after firefighters found the 4-month-old at the fire house on Springboro Pike.

Investigators said Taylor Kovacs, 19, and the baby's 17-year-old mother were having an argument near the fire station when he assaulted her.

She ran away, leaving the child and Kovacs behind. Kovacs ran as the police arrived, also leaving the baby behind.

Both were soon located and arrested. She's charged with child endangering. He's being held for child endangering and a domestic violence charge.

The child was taken into custody by Moraine Police, who placed it in the care of relatives.
