DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Three teens were taken into custody after officers said they stole money and a car from a Dayton business owner.
Officers caught up with the stolen vehicle three hours later and a police chase began.
The chase ended when the suspect's vehicle crashed into a tree on Curundu Ave. off Salem in Trotwood.
"Traffic was extremely light and due to the hour and because of the violent nature of the crime, a pursuit was authorized," said Lieutenant Wendy Stiver of the Dayton Police Department.
The three teens inside the stolen car took off running.
Officers caught two of the teens immediately. The other suspect was found a short time later hiding under a car.
