Police have arrested a suspect in a standoff at a Huber Heights home.
Officers were originally called to a home on Greydale Drive on reports of a domestic dispute. According to officials, an intoxicated man arrived at the house at 4:30 a.m. Saturday and assaulted a woman inside. The woman told police he was armed with a handgun. The woman then left the house.
Police said the man had passed out in the house with the gun. Two children, ages 4 and 2, were inside the home at the time.
The SWAT team was called to respond to the scene around 8 a.m. to avoid a hostage situation get the kids out of the home safely.
Officials said the man surrendered around 9:50 a.m. and came out of the house with his hands up. Police took him into custody.
According to officers, the man has a history of violence and has a felony warrant for robbery.
