Parents heartbroken and concerned

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) - You can imagine what went through local parents' minds as they picked their children up from school Friday.

We visited CF Holliday Elementary School in West Carrollton.  Teachers and administrators elected not to talk with the students about what happened.

They left that up to the parents as the school day came to a close.  One parent allowed us to speak with her kids, one a fourth grader, the other a sixth grader.

The children say they feel safe at school, but are very sorry about what happened in Connecticut.

"If I would've been at that school, I would've been dead.  I feel bad for those kids," said Yamir Medina, sixth grader.

"I feel sad," said Dulce Medina, fourth grader.

Parents at CF Holliday told us they were heartbroken about what happened.  They're all hugging their children a little closer.

Some parents say it's time to take another look at school security procedures.

"There should be a badge that you have to scan that allows you in the door.  I mean, I know it's expensive, but there has to be something because I worry about my baby all the time," said Crystal Dillon, parent.

"There are definitely things that could be better.  If you go into any of the schools, you can pretty much go wherever you want," said Deborah Danko, parent.
