DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton police are looking two people who shot and killed a 27-year-old man in his townhome Tuesday night.

Investigators responded to 3545 Dorham Place, off Otterbein Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired.  Officials said a neighbor heard the gun fire and called 911.

When detectives arrived they found a man shot multiple times in the living room of his home.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw two people fleeing the area in a full size SUV, dark green in color, possibly a Suburban.

Investigators said a motive is unclear; however, it doesn't appear any illegal activity was happening at the time of the shooting, nor was anything taken from the residence.

Detectives said there is a strong possibility the victim knew his killers.

"We've found shell casings inside and outside the home in the front door area," said Sergeant Mark Spiers with Dayton police.  "There are no signs of any forced entry.  It appears the victim opened the door and was shot multiple times in the upper torso and neck area."

Police are not releasing the name of the victim in this case; however, family members who arrived on scene following the shooting identified him as 27-year-old Michael Rogers.

Police said the victim was the only person in the home when the shooting happened.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (937) 222-7867.  Callers can remain anonymous and you could earn a cash reward.
