TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Law enforcement officials held an OVI checkpoint at Salem Avenue and Meadow Avenue in Trotwood Friday night targeting drunk drivers.

According to the Montgomery County OVI Task Force, 183 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and no OVI arrests were made.

Officials issued three restraint violations. The citations were all issued for child restraints.

They also made one misdemeanor arrest.

Checkpoints are designed to raise public awareness and proactively remove dangerous drivers from the roadways.

Authorities remind all motorists to designate a driver, call a cab, friend or tow truck.
