No business like snow business?

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Even under half a foot of snow, you can still see signs of spring.

"People always say it's too cold for you to be open," says Ron Enderle, owner of the Dixie Dairy Dreem. "Just letting people know we're here. Once we open we're committed."

Drivers who pass the Dixie Dairy Dreem in Moraine got a nice treat today without even having to stop.

Out front is a sign that may warm their hearts if not their hands. According to it, "Spring Is Here, Just Gotta Believe".

But on snowy days like Wednesday, it's tough to get that message across.

"We might be a little busy this evening, I'm hoping," Enderle says.   

But busy doesn't even begin to describe Bladecutter's owner John Scott's day.

He's been plowing snow  for nearly 20 hours at places like the Centerville Park Apartments

"Lots of Red Bull and 5 Hour Energy drinks and just about done," Scott says.

John has just enough time to stop and help one letter carrier with the swift completion of their appointed rounds by shoveling out their truck that had been stuck.

"My good deed for the day," Scott says.

With a big snow like this one, John has 25 trucks covering 80 different places. He's not ready for winter to end just yet.

"We're just the opposite, bad's good for us," Scott says.

They're two businesses with two very different forecasts, but both have one thing in common, they're at the mercy of Mother Nature.

"Hopefully we get one or two more snows before the spring hits," Scott says.

But as for Enderle's forecast, "People are cooped up and tired of being in the house. They're coming out for ice cream."
