DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The new year is off to a deadly start in Dayton.
Police are still searching for the gunman who fatally shot that man early Tuesday morning and they need your help.
Investigators say a neighbor called police because she found bullet holes in her house when she woke up Tuesday morning, so police did a welfare check at the home next door at 613 Hulbert Street.
When they arrived, they saw that someone had kicked in the door.
Inside, they found a 30-year-old man dead, shot multiple times.
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office tells 2 News that homicide victim is Bradlee Thompson.
Investigators say he didn't live at the home.
They aren't releasing the motive right now and don't have any suspects.
Neighbors tell 2 News they heard arguing early this morning around 3 or 4, followed by gunshots.
"I thought it was gunshots, then she said it was fireworks. It makes me nervous," says neighbor Morgan Carpenter.
"We've got a couple different theories we're going off of but we're working with friends and family now to get the background of the individual," explains Sgt. Dan Mauch with Dayton Police.
An autopsy will be performed Wednesday morning.
