New plans for old Hostess store in Kettering

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - The hostess sign has been painted green and a new business has moved into the Hostess building on Wilmington Pike in Kettering.

"We've gotten a lot of people come in, we're not even open yet, saying 'you know I used to come in as a kid,'" said Adam Smith the new co-owner of the building.

Hostess announced Friday it's going out of business after striking workers across the country crippled its ability to make its Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread and other snacks.

Smith and his business partner Michael Kash adorned the Kettering building's walls with a new product that they hope will draw in just as many customers as this iconic building once did.

They plan to open a comic book, video game and trading card store.
