New businesses open in Downtown Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The number of small businesses popping up in downtown Dayton has been growing since 2008, many will be hosting soft or grand openings during Friday's Urban Nights.

One of those businesses is Journey Cafe located in the PNC Banking Center.  Chef to the stars, Mark Brown has served music mogul Quincy Jones and boxing great Muhammed Ali and he brings his international fare to Urban Nights Friday.

Another new business is Sew Dayton, downtown's most recent Pop-Up Shop, part of an initiative to fill downtown storefronts called Activated Spaces.

Owned by two seamstresses and designers, the shop will host its grand opening during Urban Nights offering fabric,patterns, vintage bags, and a variety of accessories at their location in the Color of Energy Gallery.

Another dining option for downtown is located at the region's newest location of Oinkadoodlemooin the lobby of the Keybank Tower on Court House Square.
