Neighbors fear fire at vacant houses

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Investigators are looking into what caused a house fire in a Dayton overnight.

Smoke poured from the roof of 48 Potomac Street when firefighters arrived just before 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Because no one lives in the home, they suspect it could be arson. For neighbors like Trista Vasvary, this could be the last straw.

I'm seriously considering moving," Vasvary said. "We've had issues on this street since I moved here."

She said the house is the source of a lot of trouble for the people who live on the street.

She's lived in a home nearby for eight 8 months, and said this is the second or third time this house has been on fire.

She said homeless people were staying inside the house, then she said it was raided for a drug bust.

"It is terrifying," she said. "The houses here in this general area are very close together, so if one house catches on fire, the big fear is that it's immediately going to spread to your house."
