DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton man was convicted Wednesday of killing his girlfriend's 2-year old son.
Joe Watson IV, 27, was found guilty of murder and three counts of child endangering.
He was arrested in 2011 following the death of toddler Levi Barrett. Police records show Watson took the child to Good Samaritan Hospital, but the toddler died of blunt force trauma.
The police and hospital reported that the child had numerous scars and extensive bruising on his body.
Watson will be sentenced December 11. He faces 15 years to life in prison.
The child's mother, Michelle Mooty, 23, faces charges of permitting child abuse. She will be in court December 17.
