Mom on trial for allowing son's abuse

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The trial for a Dayton woman accused of abusing her son could come to a close Friday.

Michelle Mooty is charged with permitting child abuse, assault and child endangering.

Her son, Levi Barrett, 2, was beaten to death in December 2011.

Mooty's boyfriend, Joe Watson, IV, was sent to prison in December 2012 for murdering the toddler.

Defense attorneys made their case Wednesday.  The trial is expected to wind down Thursday.
