MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) - Butler County's first community college promises to put people back to work and revitalize a deteriorating downtown.
On Wednesday, Cincinnati State Middletown held a grand opening ceremony at it's new location on Main Street.
Middletown Mayor Larry Mulligan said the school will help breathe new life into the downtown area.
"We're seeing some investment occur," said Mulligan. "People are excited about it and I think it's that excitement we can build upon to see great things happen in Middletown. It will be different then what it was 30, 40, 50 years ago, but it will be a new downtown. We are excited about that".
Currently, there are 350 students enrolled at Cincinnati State Middletown. School officials said that number would eventually grow to three thousand, based on the schools low-tuition rates.
