MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - A Miami Township Police officer facing disciplinary action following an incident with a 17-year-old girl violated departmental conduct codes at least six times, according to a 57-page report obtained by 2 NEWS.
Maj. John DiPietro has been on paid leave during the course of an the internal investigation stemming from a July incident where he is accused of improperly decontaminating a 17-year-old girl.
According to the report, issued at the conclusion of the investigation, the teen had been pepper sprayed by officers. DiPietro took the girl back to police headquarters where he had her strip down before he hosed her off.
The report indicates it was improper conduct for DiPietro to have been alone with the naked teen when there was a female officer on duty.
DiPietro also took a picture of the teen’s tattoo and shared it with a personal friend, something the report also identifies as being improper behavior.
The Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office reviewed the case and determined no criminal charges are warranted in connection with the incident.
The internal review process could result in a finding of no action needed, resignation, suspension, demotion or termination,
