MIAMI TOWNSHIP (WDTN) - Miami Township Police Major John DiPietro has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a pre-disciplinary hearing, according to Chief John Krug.

The suspension follows an investigative report by Montgomery County Sheriff's Office of an incident in the police station sallyport where DiPietro hosed down a 17-year-old girl who had been pepper-sprayed. The girl was naked and DiPietro was alone with her the time of the incident in July.

DiPietro is on leave until a pre-disciplinary hearing before the Miami Township Board of Trustees. That hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31 at 8:30 a.m.

Dipietro has been with the department for 26 years both as an auxiliary and full time officer.

Chief Krug said the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office has declined to file any criminal charges in this case.
