DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - 2 NEWS has learned when democratic leaders in Montgomery County will be meeting to come up with two new members of the Board of Elections.

The party's executive committee plans to meet the evening of September 10.

Tuesday, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted sent Dennis Lieberman and Thomas Ritchie a letter informing them they were being removed from the county's board of elections.

Husted stated the two men had gone against his directive when they voted to allow in-person, early voting on weekends in Montgomery County.

Since they would not take back their vote they were fired.

The board of elections is made up of two Republicans and two Democrats.

The Secretary of State will review the nominations and make the final decision.
