DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Firefighters rescued a man from a burning building in Dayton Friday evening.

Crews rushed to a two story apartment building in the 900 block of South Broadway around 7:30 pm.  They arrived to find flames and heavy smoke shooting from the building.

Firefighters say an air conditioning unit had to be removed from a window, so the man could be rescued from the second floor.  He wasn't hurt, just shaken up.

The other residents made it out safely, but the Red Cross was called in to help them.

Investigators say they found a marijuana grow operation while searching the building.  No arrests have been made so far.

The cause is under investigation.
