MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) - With record setting heat here in Dayton-- the air conditioning is what most of us turn to for relief.

Early Friday morning, 2 NEWS spoke with one Miamisburg family that's been beating the heat without AC for nearly nine years.

During the day, Christina Moore said she takes her two sons to the library or even the movies to stay cool.

Moore told us the windows of her family's home aren't compatible with an air condition unit, and with temperatures in Moraine that barely dipped below 80 degrees overnight-- sleeping was a bit of a challenge.

She also said she tries not to cook or use the oven, which heats the entire house.

The family's furry friends were also doing their best to beat the heat.

Moore told us her cat and dog spend almost all of their time indoors. She even puts ice in their water as an extra precaution.
