DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Local leaders have known for several months that sequestration cuts were coming to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, but today they will gather to discuss what additional cuts might be on the horizon.

Jeff Hoagland President & CEO of the Dayton Development Coalition is hosting a strategic meeting with Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger, Commander of Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patt. and Congressman Mike Turner the newly named Chairman of the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Subcommittee.

Earlier this month the Department of Defense requested non-critical civilian postilions not be filled and the Air Force Materiel Command was ordered to eliminate travel, any minor purchases, and facility repairs.

Even larger cuts are expected by the DOD and Turner, Wolfenbarger, and Hoagland will discuss that in detail and will hold  a 2 p.m. press conference Wednesday, Jan 30 at the Dayton Development Coalition offices in downtown Dayton.
