DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The man who admitted to a murder during a home invasion was sentenced Monday.

A judge ordered Roderick Montgomery to serve 31 years to life in prison for killing 30-year-old Patrick Hall.

Hall was shot inside his home on Hagen Avenue in Jefferson Township in December 2010. Investigators found him with a gunshot wound in his stomach. He was rushed Miami Valley Hospital, where he later died.

Hall was a former star basketball player, who helped lead Jefferson High School to a state title in 1998.
