Kettering homeowners injured trying to put out fire

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Flames consume a Kettering garage and leave two people injured after they attempt to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of Reardon Drive in Kettering after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Crews stated the blaze started in a detached garage.

According to officials, flames spread to the home and to the garage next door.

The homeowners were inside at the time the fire sparked. They tried to put out the fire and suffered burns. They were treated for minor injuries.

The garage is considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
