KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Hundreds of local students hit the pavement Wednesday morning for International Walk to School Day.
We caught up with some students walking to Greenmont Elementary in Kettering.
Safe Kids Greater Dayton teamed with Dayton Children's and Fedex to promote and celebrate safe walking.
"We are escorting children to school and teaching them just some of the rules of the road and in this particular neighborhood, we're encouraging walking Wednesdays, so we're helping to kick off that event," said Jessica Saunders, Safe Kids and Dayton Children's Coordinator.
Students were also encouraged to bike and roll to school as well as walk.
