Illness closes down Catholic school

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - It is not snow or ice, but illness that is shutting down a local school Thursday, February 14, 2013.

Mother Brunner Catholic School on Denlinger Road in Dayton will be closed while some students and teachers battle respiratory illnesses and stomach viruses.

The school confirms that about 50 students called in sick Wednesday.  Five teachers also stayed home.

The principal says school janitors will spend the day Thursday thoroughly cleaning the building.

The school has about 335 students enrolled.

It is also closed Friday for a previously scheduled day off.
