DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - It's become a holiday tradition in downtown Dayton.  The Riverscape ice skating rink opens the day after Thanksgiving.

Well, not this year.  You can't skate on ice unless it's cold enough to make some.  Five Rivers MetroParks says the warm weather is postpone the opening.

So, if you had plans to skate during the Grande Illumination, you'll have to wait awhile.

As soon as the temperature drop, workers will get the rink ready.

You can call to check on the rink's status at 278-2607.
